United Arab Emirates has welcomed the amendment of anti-terrorism laws by Qatar as a positive step since the imposition of sanction on Doha by UAE and three other Arab countries.

Qatar, denying the accusation of supporting terrorism, has laid down rules for defining terrorism, freezing funding and terrorism financing. It has also set up national terrorism lists.

Further, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anwar Gargash, had tweeted that this decision of Qatar is a positive step to deal seriously with the 59 terrorists.

According to Gargash, the country was relieved about Qatar’s ties with Iran after the eviction order of Iranian Ambassador and 14 other diplomats by Kuwait for suspected association with “spy and terror” cell.

The four countries, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt and Bahrain, had set out a diplomatic and economic campaign to pressurize the Gulf country and isolate it. They have also nominated dozens of people including spiritual leader of Muslim Brotherhood Yousef al-Qaradawi, as terrorists.

Qatar and US:

Qatar hosts the biggest US military base in the Middle East. They have entered into an agreement with each other to fight terrorism financing. The details of the same have not yet been released but sources say that it accommodates for the US to place officials at Qatar’s state prosecutor’s office.
