The Election Commission (EC) will be setting up a panel to suggest amendments for adding a provision in the election law to prohibit campaigning 48 hours before polling.

The poll panel issued an order last week stating that the proposed committee will feature members from the Election Commission, the ministries of Law and IT and also the Information and Broadcasting Ministry who will review the existing provisions in the current scenario of communication technologies and suggest required changes.
