AIIMS IN GUAHATI WILL BE INITIATED THIS YEAR

The Center finally nods its green signal to build a branch of All India Institute of Medical Science to boost up the health infrastructure of Assam. The hospital is proposed at Guahati.

Union health minister Jagat Prakash Nadda confirmed the same after he had a meeting with the Health Minister of Assam, Najrul Islam and other officials. In the meeting health ministers north eastern states were also present. Nada after the meeting declares the center’;s decision regarding the same.

A health institute in the model of AIIMS has been demanded by north eastern states for long and finally it has got the center’;s approval. Nadda further confirmed that in Guahati AIIMS is directly spreading a new wing instead of a AIIMS Model Institution. The central team of official will visit the place soon to start the initiative, he added further. A source confirmed the construction work will get initiated in current year.

Assam Government has already proposed three site for AIIMS at Guahati. Najrul Islam, health minister of the state, said that in last april they have filed detail of three proposed sites to the center which are at — Kamlapur and Dimoria area in Kamrup and third one is at Rahar in Noagaon.

Congress is demanding for AIIMS since a long time and they use to blame BJP led government for the delay. However Nadda disagree at Congress’; allegation and said as the center promised to build AIIMS here and they will do that definitely and the project will get completed at the earliest.
