The district administration of Lucknow on Thursday evening put up hoardings with photos and addresses of 53 and anti-CAA protesters at prominent crossings across Lucknow.

The holdings include pictures of Shia cleric Maulana Saif Abbas, retired IPS SR Dara Puri and Congress leader Sadaf Jafar, all of whom were named as accused in the violence that swept Delhi on December 19, 2019.

Around hundred such hoardings will be put across several places in Lucknow that will feature the pictures names and addresses of people who have been identified by the district administration found to be involved in violent activities during the protest across Lucknow.

Besides this, the people involved in the violence have been served recovery notices and if they don’t pay the damages, it would result in confiscating their properties.

The damages happened have been assessed to be worth Rs.1.5 crore by the Lucknow administration.

According to the information, 10 people from the Thakurganj area and six from Qaiserbagh area have been served recovery notices of over Rs.69 Lakhs till now.

The people who have been served the notices also include Shia cleric Maulana Saif Abbas and son of Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, Sibtain Noori.

The process of serving notices came soon after the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath warned the people who are involved in violence during demonstrations of revenge for the losses including the police motorcycles that were damaged during the violence, barrier, and sticks.

Large-scale violence was reported from Uttar Pradesh over the citizenship amendment act which detractors have termed as divisive and anti-Muslim.
