Chattisgarh soon to enact a law to protect journalists 

The Congress government in Chhattisgarh soon to enact a Journalist Security Law and the legislation will be termed as Chattisgarh Protection of Mediapersons Act to endure the protection of journalists in the state.

The Act will deal with issues such as complaints of harassment, unfair prosecution, or intimidation and violence and arrests of media persons.

Delhi High Court’s big decision on the hospital, nursing home charges

The PIL filed before the court that was seeking uniformity in the private nursing homes and hospital charges has been dismissed stating that there cannot be any uniformity in the charges levied by different hospitals and nursing homes as their charges varies on various factors such as the facilities they offer, the kind of disease of the patient and the type of treatment given to the patient by private hospitals.

A 5-year ban on LTTE confirmed by the tribunal headed by Delhi High Court Judge

The 5-year ban on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has been confirmed to examine whether the prohibitions on the terror organization should continue.

LTTE was banned in India after the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991. Since then, after every five years, the ban gets extended.
