Students in Delhi protest at the faculty of Law after the Delhi High Court’s order on December 4, 2019, the Bar Council of India had published a list which states that only those students have a valid degree who have taken admission till the year 2016–17 and the students who have taken admission after 2016-17 who are to graduate in the coming years or presently will receive a law degree will not be valid and this sparks the students protest demanding the Bar Council of India to approve their degrees with stating that the administration has not acknowledged the grievances of the students and this ignorant behavior by the administration is not in compliance with University Grant Commission guidelines that states that whatsoever grievances students have must be properly addressed and disposed of within 15 days
The transfer of complaints against advocates pending before the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to the Bar Council of India has been stayed by the Madras High Court on the ground that the former has failed to respond to complaints within one year – A division bench of justices Kirubakaran and R Pongiappan even passed the interim order while observing that the State Bar Council is deliberately dragging the disposal so that the complaints are transferred to the Bar Council of India under section 36B of the advocates act
