Ludhiana: The new online system allows lawyers to file a bail application. According to the District Bar Association (DBA), the lawyer got bails and parole for over 100 prisoners.
The bail applications were sent to judges online, the judges are said to have granted the release of the convicts under merit trial.
Advocate Rajinder Pal Singh Babbar, vice-president of DBA, said this is a new development in the history of DBA.
“Since the advocated were not allowed to leave their houses, I talked to sessions judges and he was pleased enough to permit us to file online bail applications. I distributed the list of email addresses and phone numbers of judges among the members,” he said.
“However, in this case, we have sent personal bail bond forms and as soon as the court issue release orders, orders are directly given to jailers who then release the prisoners,” he continued.
He said the lawyers have secured bails for over 100 prisoners since the new system was introduced.
